What a blessing to enjoy your blog and be directed in my thoughts to Christ, the one who redeemed this onery brat and changed him into some one who can share his glory with others. I'm also thankful for my awsome wife who completes me in so many ways, my lovely children, for the joy of wonderful friends, and my church. I'm thankful for the beauty of God's creation, how the trees and frost display it anew each morning, along with the sun sets each evening. I am thankful for joy, peace, and God's word. This is a good challenge, because I tend to be thankful for the same things and don't look outside the box at all of my other blessings good and bad.

KristiAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6293021585820584668.post-42803753965189493842010-11-12T22:00:43.127-06:002010-11-12T22:00:43.127-06:00Love this post! And yeah, I have entries in there about hard times and dark days because there's growth there. You know what I was thankful for today? That the gloomy weather matched my mood. I know, it sounds weird, but it reminded me that it's irritating when I'm hurting and it's a bright, sunny day, and that, in turn, reminded me that when my friends hurt, they need me to meet their mood and greive or hurt with them. Like it says in the Word, to "mourn with those who mourn." Anyhoo, enjoyed your thoughts and like the festive look of your blog!Danahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02261399658340603250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6293021585820584668.post-70250175304023811642010-11-11T18:08:46.979-06:002010-11-11T18:08:46.979-06:00Every single night when I lay my head down and eve...Every single night when I lay my head down and every single morning the second I awake I thank God for my life, my husband's life and my children's life. Every day that I get to be alive is an honor, a privelege and a gift. Everything else that comes along with life is icing on the cake...the good times and the hard times. My nephew Ryan passed away 2 years ago and he was only 27 years old. He was diagnosed with cancer at 25 and fought it every day for 2 years...2 years of treatments, pain and sickness. I know what he would have given for just one more day of healthy, normal, regular old life and he couldn't have it no matter how hard he tried, wished, and prayed. It was his time to go and the Lord took him home. He is happy now and free of illness. His life and death has taught me exactly what is important and exactly what I am thankful for every day. Thank you for this post and the opportunity for me to share my story as well.Bonniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13485155713261218739noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6293021585820584668.post-84844297378986777362010-11-11T12:41:15.147-06:002010-11-11T12:41:15.147-06:00Good idea Mel! Would require a book. However, there are some that stand out. Thankful for the love I receive from my husband, my children, & my grandkids, the great-grandkids in our world. The opportunities to show my love for all of them. The smiles that I see on little ones faces.
For my jobs: the one that pays on Main STreet; the county volunteer position of PIO that allows me the opportunity to learn from new acquaintances around the State; the Wilmore program that allows me to meet so many performers & listeners; my church where I can help make a joyful noise to our Lord. For the soldiers who have fought & continue to serve so that I have the freedom to worship the Lord anytime & anywhere!
For the ability God gave me to sing, maybe not well, but enough to share with others. For the people I meet throughout my various endeavors. For having my dad still alive & involved in my life. For the fact that he married such a beautiful woman & made her my mom! How I miss her, but am so thankful that I had her, & she made me who I am today. For the step-mom Dad gave me 2 years ago.
Oh, my, how I could continue. I thank you Melanie, for sharing your talents of gardening, motherhood, being a friend, decorating skilss, & oh so much more. Thank you for bringing these various scriptures to "light" so that I can reflect today on more of my list!
So much more! A very thankful Thursday for sure!ragtime4361https://www.blogger.com/profile/07301101387533071224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6293021585820584668.post-52214526781163617502010-11-11T07:50:49.575-06:002010-11-11T07:50:49.575-06:00I'm very thankful for YOU, and YOUR crew, and ...I'm very thankful for YOU, and YOUR crew, and your very own personal cheerleader...COOKIES! I often send actual thank you cards to people who were especially kind to us at sometime over the past year (if I hadn't already). Sometimes, when we get a little distance from an event, we see the layers of kindness more clearly. Also, what may have been a frustrating or aggravating encounter can be seen as an opportunity to grow.

I second your thankfulness for technology. I'm thankful for the garden blogging friends I've found. Nice people like you.
